I would like to thank all at Khobbeizeh for the interest you have lent to our song with Amer. Amer, whom to me is not just a partner on stage, and great songwriter, but also a true friend! i am honoured to have performed with him and with the whole PETRA ROCKS team, and i hope that, with the valuable support of people like yourself Mohammad , this play will go on to be performed, not only in Amman but also in other Jordanian cities, and internationally, raising the flag of our country high! The songs in this show are exceptional in their modernity, it felt natural to sing in arabic, a language i am not used to performing in, but thanks to Amer's savoir faire and Nasser's talent the music received high acclaim and admiration. معكم من البحر الميت في ورشة عمل "رسل الحرية" من تنظيم مركز حماية وحرية الصحفيين . هدف الورشة في 4 أيًام هو مناقشة مفاهيم الحريّة ومصطلحات الديمقراطية وحقوق الإنسان وكل ما يتعلق بها، ومن ثم الحصول على مشاريع فنية وهادفة كمخرجات لهذه الورشة تهدف إلى التغيير والإصلاح في المجتمع. خبّيزة ترحب بمشاراكاتكم وآرائكم.

اليوم الأول

ناقشوا معنا
كيف يكون الاتصال مفتاح النجاح؟ هل تراعي الإنتباه لمصطلحاتك المستخدمة؟ خذ، إمسك، بدي أحكيلك، إسمع... صيغة الأمر دائماً في ثقافتنا الكلامية في الأردن، لماذا؟ هل فكرت أن تقلب الأقوال السلبية إلى إيجابية؟ مثلاً: أنت مخطئ، لا تقل لي ما علي فعله، لا أقبل بذلك، لا أعتقد أنك قابل للتغيير

هل للتعليم علاقة بالديمقراطية؟ وهل الواقع التعليمي يزيد من الديمقراطية؟ كيف نخرج من التعليم التلقيني إلى التعليم المشاركي؟
أميركا غيرّت منهاجها التعليمي فوراً بعد وصول روسيا إلى القمر! أمّا ألمانيا فغيرته فوراً بعد هزيمتها في الحرب العالمية الثانية! هل نحن بإنتظار حدث معين لتغيير المنهاج حتى يتطور المجتمع؟

لغة حقوق الإنسان هل هي سلوك؟ كبف يتمكن الفن من الوقوف بوجه إنتهاكات الحقوق؟
هل نستطيع أن نحلم بإنشاء المحكمة العربية لحقوق الإنسان بدل من اللجوء إلى الغرب بكل شيء يتعلق بحقوق الإنسان؟

الليبرالية والتحرر، هل هي مصالح شخصية يدفعها كل شخص إلى جانبه؟

العولمة هي سيطرة ثقافة القوة على كل العالم، إذا كانت هذه القوة في كفتنا، هل ممكن أن يحتفل الأميركيون مثلاً بإفنتتاح مطعم هاشم في ولاية نيويورك بدل أن نحتفل نحن بإفتتاح مطعم ماكدونالدز، أو ينتشر لبس الدشداشة البيضاء في العالم بدل بنطلون الجينز؟

بين روتانا ودليل المدونين

بالرغم من معارضتي لمجموعة روتانا وقنواتها وسياستها الفنية، إلا أنّ خبيزة حلت ضيفة في العديد الأخير من مجلة روتانا، من خلال موضوع شيق جداً عن التدوين، أعجبني فيه تحديد خريطة التدوين وإلى أين وصلت في العالم العربي، مع بعض التحليلات الجيدة


وأيضاً خبيزة مصنفة في دليل المدونين نحو الإنتشار والتأثير، والذي أعده هيثم عبد الناصر وأصدره مركز حماية وحرية الصحفيين بالتعاون مع مجلس الأبحاث والتبادل الدولي ايركس. ويعتبر هذا الدليل مبادرة أولى من نوعها في المنطقة، وحقاً تستحق التميز! تفاصيل الدليل وإمكانية تحميله كاملاً هنا

21st European Film Festival

"For two decades The European Film Festival has become a traditional autumn event that attracts each year many Jordanian cinema lovers and resident foreigners to discover, share and enjoy a wide range of films produced in Europe. However, over the past three years, the Festival developed a wider outreach to the Jordanian public at large, when part of its screenings was organized in other cities across the Kingdom thanks to the precious support of the Royal Film Commission. Under the patronage of HRH Princess Rym Ali, the 21st Edition will take place in Amman, at the Al Hussein Cultural Centre along with screenings of selected movies in the cities of Zarqa (King Abdullah II Center), Irbid (Yarmouk University), Aqaba (Chamber of Commerce with the support of ASEZA) & Karak (Hassan Cultural Center). The EU Film Festival maintains its strategy to be an open cultural event to public at large with free of charge access to the screenings and side events.

The festival aims at introducing Jordanian people to the culture and the tradition of the European countries. It tackles issues that concern the young generation, and encourages debate around universal themes. It is meant to employ the art of cinema to enhance the ongoing intercultural dialogue with the Jordanian society, and to broaden the EU-Jordan partnership framework. During the festival, films from 15 European countries will be screened. Many of the films have some aspects in common, and therefore two main themes have been chosen: The first one, Cultural dialogue, concerns the dynamics and frictions that appear when people of different background meet. The second, Past versus present, deals with the dynamics of the passing of time (time in movement?), the relationship between young and old generations, and Europe’s history on all its colors.

During the film festival, side events related to the two festival themes will take place. On November 9 there will be events related to the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin wall. This historical event, of great importance for Europe will be celebrated with a film screening and concerts with bands that reflect cultural diversity and what it entails in terms of cultural dialogue. The latter is also expressed in side events, scheduled to take place in Amman and Zarqa around the Danish film. This is an open invitation from the European Union to all Jordanians to get a taste of different aspects of the culture, history and people of Europe. The annual European Film Festival 2009 will take place between November 1 - 16. This 21st Edition of the European Film Festival is brought to you by the European Union led by the current EU presidency of the Swedish Embassy in Amman, in cooperation with the Royal Film Commission along with Greater Amman Municipality, and OrangeRed as the logistics organizer."

Jordan in 360 x 360

And that's "Jordan Wonder", a new project to promote Jordan Worldwide, produced by a local production company, Déjà vu . It is a DVD containing a 360 x 360 interactive picture gallery and description of each location with a 5-minute film about Jordan. The project will be distributed worldwide, and the DVD will be available in retail shops within Jordan, and the tourism guest centers. More in this video from the launching event:

Grendizer creator Go Nagai

Yup, he was here in Amman! Japanese Manga artist Go Nagai gave two lectures, one for students at Princess Sumaya University, and another at the Royal Film Commission, where i got the chance to take a couple of photos:
